Project: Retractable Fabric Roof Installation
Products: DSS Compact Retractable Fabric Roof System
Project Overview
Designer Shade Solutions worked with Little Wellington in Stowmarket to transform its outdoor seating area with a DSS Compact Retractable Fabric Roof System.
The installation spans the gap between the main building and an existing timber structure, creating additional covered space for customers to enjoy. The project makes better use of the available outdoor area while retaining the character of the existing venue.
The Challenge
Little Wellington wanted to make better use of the space between its main building and existing timber structure, creating a more versatile outdoor seating area for customers.
The installation needed to work within the layout of the existing buildings while providing effective overhead cover. The aim was to create a practical solution that would allow the venue to make greater use of its outdoor space in changing weather conditions.
Our Solution
Designer Shade Solutions installed a DSS Compact Retractable Fabric Roof System across the gap between the two structures.
The retractable design allows the roof to be opened or closed as required, giving Little Wellington greater flexibility in how the outdoor seating area is used.
The project also included the installation of side blinds, with further enclosure options being considered to help make the space even more versatile.
Designed for long-term use, the DSS Compact Retractable Fabric Roof System offers an expected service life of around 20 years, making it a long-term investment in the venue’s outdoor facilities.
The Result
The completed installation has created additional covered seating at Little Wellington, making better use of the space between the existing buildings.
The retractable roof provides flexibility for different weather conditions, allowing the venue to adapt the space to suit its needs. With side blinds being installed and further enclosure options under consideration, the area has the potential to become an even more versatile part of the venue.
The result is a practical, long-term shading solution that helps Little Wellington maximise its outdoor seating space.
