Project Type: Commercial hospitality roofing installation
System: DSS Retractable Glass Roof
Key Features: Retractable glazed roof, contemporary structural framework, natural light
The Project
Theatrix Rooftop Bar in Birmingham called for a roofing solution that would help make its outdoor space more versatile, combining the appeal of open air dining and socialising with the practicality of overhead shelter.
Designer Shade Solutions delivered a bespoke retractable glass roof, creating a contemporary covered terrace that retains a bright, open feel while offering flexibility as conditions change.
Contemporary Design Meets Practical Performance
The retractable glass roof provides overhead coverage without losing the sense of space that makes a rooftop venue distinctive. Supported by a sleek black structural framework, the installation complements the modern setting and creates a defined area for guests to enjoy.
The glazed design allows natural light to enter the covered space, helping maintain a bright and welcoming atmosphere throughout the day.
Flexible Shelter for Rooftop Hospitality
For hospitality venues, outdoor space can be a valuable part of the customer experience. A retractable roof offers the flexibility to adapt the terrace to the conditions, making it easier to balance shelter with the enjoyment of an open rooftop environment.
At Theatrix Rooftop Bar, the installation brings these considerations together in a solution designed around the needs of a contemporary hospitality setting.
The Result: A Brighter, More Adaptable Rooftop
The completed installation demonstrates how a DSS retractable glass roof can enhance a commercial rooftop terrace. Combining glazed overhead coverage, a modern structural finish and the flexibility of a retractable system, the project creates an inviting environment for rooftop hospitality in the heart of Birmingham.
